Here are Untum's tips

1. Pay yourself first. With all the income you get, put aside money that is there to stay as savings. We suggest 10% of any income you get.

2. Have a goal for your savings. Saving for the sake of saving leads to one spending the savings wrecklessly. Have a goal to save towards so you can have the discipline to keep your money instead of spending it

3. Know your expenses. Track all your expenses for a month or have a look at your bank statement and see where you are spending. Find areas where you can save money. Use these savings to add to your money goals.

4. Don't spend more than what you earn. Have a budget and try to stick to it
